So I was able to experience the Texas Black Expo this past weekend for the first time! The expo is one of Texas’ largest African-American trade show that happens every year. I’m not sure why I never heard of this but it was definitely a cool networking opportunity. I went there for the workshops that they offered that really helped me! The events I went to were “Building a Career in Entertainment” that was hosted by The Breakfast Club’s, DJ Envy, an entertainment lawyer, and Bo Money the program director of Houston’s 93.7 The Beat and Diva Dialogues with Devi Dev, Angela Yee, Necole Bitchie, and Lady Emmy.
I learned a lot of valuable information and was able to get my questions answered about the industry. Â There were also many vendors there with bundles, waist trainers, hair care products, and much more. Everyone that I met was super nice! No one was stuck up or anything and really willing to listen to me. I was able to hand out my fresh new business cards that came in the mail that day to everyone! It was very fun and definitely a great networking opportunity! I’m so happy that I went because I love being motivated by those before me and learn from their mistakes to try to get better everyday! I really feel like this experience will definitely push my career in hearing the great advice and being able to actually mingle with those I look up to. Much thanks to theTexas Black Expo and I will be in attendance next year! Check out my vlog and pictures to relive my experience!
