With the first day of spring already here, that means the climate is changing, the air is different, and your skin will be probably be acting funny as well.
It’s time to change your skin regimen to make sure that your melanin stays glowing and pimple free. If you’re located in a dry state like Texas where spring and summer are one in the same, it is important to make sure to take closer care to your skin.
Just like I change up my nail color and my hair for the warmer weather, I make sure I change up my skin routines and pay closer attention to it to make sure my skin stays poppin’.
Keep it light.
When it’s hot outside it is very crucial to not have heavy oils on your face but to not forget to keep your skin hydrated. Instead of using your everyday heavy body lotions on your face, opt to use a light moisturizer specifically for the face. Don’t forget to use something with sunscreen as well!

Ditch the beat face. Sometimes.
During the hotter months, I’ve noticed the less I do to my face, the better. Sometimes I ditch the make up and opt for just a bronzer or a highlighter and lip gloss (and maybe do my eyebrows). My face is one of the sweatiest places on my body and I hate having to reapply more powder to stay beat. Sometimes a natural glow is the best anyway.

Wash your face well.
There’s nothing better than coming home after a long day to wash my face. Like I said, the less the better so I only use a couple a products on my face. Some suggest that in the warmer months exfoliating is a must but due to my sensitive skin, washing my face really well does the job. I wash my face twice a day using soap and water and at night I put shea butter ZSon to ensure that my skin is radiant the next day.
Remember that everything doesn’t work for everyone but it’s important to take care of your skin as the weather starts to get warmer. Don’t forget that minding your business and drinking water is also the cure to great skin! What are some steps that are apart of your spring skin routine?
